Personal Profile

Welcome to my personal profile. Employers will find categorized, "bite-sized" topics of interest helpful in determining my candidacy.

Summary

Articulate, personable, professional with over 15 years of programming experience seeks senior application developer/analyst position as an ASP.NET 2.0/C# application developer.

Positional Preferences

Senior application developer/analyst would be my ideal position; ideal, primary responsibilities would include, but certainly not be limited to:

  • Cutting edge, hands-on ASP.NET 2.0/C# application development.
  • Design/coding/implementation of three-tier architecture driven web sites and intranets.
  • Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 back end database design/development
  • (Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures).
  • XML Web Service development.

Contractural Preference

When it comes to employment, I'm a bit of a Hobbit by nature; I prefer more permanent fare, thank you very much! As providence would have it however, I have entered into consulting agreements on occasion. While long-term consulting contracts are considerable, permanent positions are indeed preferrable.

Technical Background

"Varied and extensive" would best describe my background, honed from over 15 years of programming experience.

Currently, I am employed as a consultant to the United States Army (Department of Defense, DoD), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. My responsibilties primarily include the redesign/upgrade of several legacy ASP/VBScript web sites to ASP.NET 2.0/C#.NET incorporating a flexible three-tier architecture; which leaves room for multi-tier capabilities and platforms (Windows Desktop, PDA's and Blackberry). I am also responsible for directing the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems internet development technology.

I have written industrial strength MS Windows Applications in Visual C++ 6.0/MFC/Win32 for the Banking, Cash Office, Medical and Education industries. I am very experienced in GUI (front end), backend processing (RDBMS/SQL/Stored Procedures; Multithreading/ Synchronization; MS Windows Registry Processing; File Handling/Complex Archiving/Serialization/XML; Web Protocols/Ftp/Http; etc.) and Dynamic Link Library (DLL) creation/implementation. I also have several years of Web Development experience using ASP/VBScript, DHTML, and heavy Macromedia Flash MX 2004/OOP ActionScript 2.0.

Technical Training

I am a graduate of the Microsoft C#.NET Master's Program administered through SetFocus located in Parsippany, NJ. Currently, I am studying to obtain Microsoft MCTS Certifications in .NET Framework 2.0 Web Applications and .NET Framework 2.0 Distributed Applications. After these, I hope to pursue my Microsoft MCPD Certification as a ASP.NET 2.0/C#.NET Web Developer.

The CHUBB Institute of Technology located in Parsippany, NJ, is where I received the bulk of my computer training, however. I am a 4-time graduate of many of their fine computer programming courses: C++, ASP/VBScript, Web Design and COBOL. I have also attended, and graduated from several other fine technical schools such as The Learning Tree for Java and the Sybase Training Division for Distributed Application Programming using PowerBuilder.
